September 23 – November 1, 2010 – Absentee Voting, By Mail or In Person
You do not need a special reason to vote absentee. If absentee voting, either by mail or in person, is a convenient option for you, for any reason, you can request a ballot online or by phone at (312) 603-0946, or you can apply in person at any of these locations. The last day to request a ballot by mail is October 28, and completed ballots must be postmarked by November 1st.

October 5, 2010 – Last Day to Register or Change Your Registration
If you are at all unsure about your registration status, you can verify it here. If you have any questions about your registration status you can email Voter.Reg@cookcountyil.gov or call (312) 603-0906. You can download a registration application here or you can register in person at a Cook County Clerk office, a village, city or township clerk’s office, or an Illinois Secretary of State’s drivers license facility. In order to register you will need to show two forms of state-recognized ID, one of which must have your current name and address and one of which must be photographic. A list of acceptable forms of identification is available here.

October 6 – 26, 2010 – Grace Period Registration and Voting
If you were unable to register or change your address by October 5th, for any reason, you can still register and vote. You can do so at any of the 6 Suburban Cook County Clerk offices. In order to Grace Period register and vote you will need to show two forms of state-recognized ID, one of which must have your current name and address and one of which must be photographic. A list of acceptable forms of identification is available here.

October 12 – October 28, 2010 – Early Voting
You do not need a special reason to vote early. Any Suburban Cook County registered voter can vote at any of the Early Voting stations in Suburban Cook County and Downtown Chicago which will be available here.

November 2, 2010 – Election Day

October 11 – October 28 – Early Voting
You do not need a special reason to vote early. Any DuPage registered voter can vote at any of the Early Voting stations in DuPage County, which will be available here.

November 2, 2010 – Election Day

October 11 – October 28, 2010 – Early Voting
You do not need a special reason to vote early. Any Kane County registered voter can vote at any of the Early Voting stations in Kane County (excluding Aurora), a list of which is available here.
